Membership

Join Flookan as a member! For £80 per month, you are entitled to 3x 3 hour sessions per week to use the facilities, tools and equipment, wheels and reclaim clay, giving you the opportunity to focus on your creativity and build your practice.

Memberships are subject to terms and conditions.

You must have undergone our introductory course or already be practicing ceramics, sessions are self led, firing costs are charged separately.


Open Access

If you can't commit to a membership, why not join Flookan through Open Access!

This is a pay as you go option, you simply book in for a 3 hour session when it suits you, giving you flexibility in your making. Your initial introduction session is £25 with each session after charged at £12. This entitles you to use the space, equipment, tools and reclaim clay.

Open Access is subject to terms and conditions.

Firing Services

Firing services for those making from home are available. We charge per piece based on size, please get in touch for more information on costs.


Courses

Our current courses include:

Introductory course - Run over 4 weeks, we will introduce you to the fundamentals of clay, hand building techniques, throwing on the wheel, glaze and decoration. You will finish the course with 3 of your own, fired creations and a good foundation for working with clay!

Throwing for beginners to intermediate - Run over 4 weeks, you will learn how to work with clay on the wheel. Throwing a variety of pots, turning, attaching handles, slip decoration and glazing. You will finish the course with 3 fired pieces and the basis to build your skills in this craft.


One Off Workshops

We offer a range of one of workshops throughout the year, from porcelain jewellery making to seasonal themed making sessions, this is the perfect way to get involved if you're on the fence about clay! These workshops give you a taster of clay techniques, with support, in a relaxed and friendly environment, a cup of tea and good vibes!


Comissions & Community Projects

Flookan is passionate about making with clay in the heart of clay country. We have a collective of artists who have worked with the Brickfield Project, The Wheal Martyn Museum and St Austell College. If you are interested in commissioning Flookan artists or collaborating on a project, get in touch!
